1 1/2 cup Japanese short grain rice, washed

1/2 cup brown rice, washed and soaked overnight

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

2 tsp mixed herbs

2 cloves garlic, crushed

A pinch of salt

1 tbsp rice vinegar


250 g minced chicken

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 clove shallot, minced

1 bunch fresh basil, chopped

1 red chilli, julienned

1 green chilli, julienned

1/2 tbsp white sesame seed

1 tsp white pepper

1 tbsp sweet dark soy sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp sunflower oil



1Place all rice ingredients (except vinegar) in the rice cooker and cook

2Once rice is cooked, add vinegar and mix well. Leave aside to cool

3In a frying pan, heat oil over medium heat

4Stir-fry garlic, shallot, red and green chilli till fragrant

5Add chicken, basil, pepper, dark soy sauce, sesame seed and oil

6Continue to stir-fry until chicken is cooked through

7Pour chicken into rice and mix well

8With a cling film on your hand, scoop a 1-2 tbsp of rice mixture

9Wrap the film around the rice and mould it into a ball

10Continue with all the rice mixture

11Serve and enjoy immediately!
